Default 2014 Detroit Gold Cup A.P.B.A. Hydroplane Pics and Video

The oldest trophy of all motor sports belongs to the A.P.B.A. named the "Gold Cup". On July 13, 2014 the Gold Cup was given to the youngest winner named Jimmy Shane piloting the U-6 Oberto Hydroplane.

I was at the event and took a few pics and video. The pics are still uploading but available here:

Glad he's OK, I know the cockpits have come a long way since the Allison power plants. i just never see them on tv anymore, just to busy I guess

The Allison engines are def loud!! They had a few nostalgic hydroplanes sporting the Allison power plants racing around. Kind of reminds me of Pro Street at the strip.

Personally I think they need to go back to piston power.
