Re: As the Viper Community Turns II
the shit storm over on the VOA continues, seems people are losing patience with the dishonesty of the 175k loan and NOW, there is a raffle for a Viper. One would think after all the issues with raffles in the past on the VCA, this would not have happened. the IRS seems to not like raffles and non-for-profit organizations. My understanding is from history that member fees are not taxable, income from a raffle is and that muddies the waters a bit. Sure, glad I'm not their accountant/treasurer. It's sounds like a nightmare. I'm also not a Tax specialist/attorney so I may just be talking out my ass. This is all opinion of course, but opinion based on history and the troubles it caused the VCA. Happy to see the VCA at least being smart about rebuilding where the VOA is in a balls on fire, 500 mph crash into the nearest wall. I don't think at this point though, that I would join any club/association. The people are great, the organizations not so much. It seems anymore to be less about club/association members and more about power
